Make a Gift & Feed Culver City Kids
With increasing numbers of children in the Culver City schools being food insecure, the need for healthy food options is critical to their success. Everything you contribute helps the Backpacks Program with 100% of donated funds going directly to program costs. We are volunteer-run with no overhead or administrative salaries. We are sponsored financially by the Culver City Education Foundation to whom we must report all expenditures and donations. The Backpacks Program receives no funding from the school district, state, or federal sources. We count on private donations and donations from the community. Monetary donations are especially helpful as it allow us to purchase specific items we need in bulk (so it's more cost-efficient) when we need them (since we have limited space in our food pantry).
With the rising cost of food, it now costs $20 to fill up a bag of food. For 200 backpacks, we are spending $4,000 each week. With 4 weeks of packing each month, our monthly cost is $16,000!
We have several contribution options- below are the ways you can make your gift to the Backpacks Program. Thank you for your support!
$20 per backpack x 4 weeks x 200 children = $16,000 per month
